Takashi Mochizuki has explained that the Japanese company assures that “there will be no Next-Gen console of the PlayStation brand in the next twelve months”, which guarantees that until at least May 2020 we will not see the expected PlayStation 5.
I suggest you call your SIE PR rep if you want to confirm no new PS release in FY19 (April 2019 – March 2020). Hope this hepls!

With this information we already know that, presumably, the console would be released in the final stretch of 2020, as it was in most pools for the hypothetical launch of the platform. A sale in the first half of the year would not have been unusual, as it should be recalled that the first PlayStation was launched between September and December 1994 and 1995 (depending on the territory), PlayStation 2 was launched in March 2000 (in Japan), while PlayStation 3 did the same in PAL territories in March 2007. PlayStation 4 finally came to light in February 2014 in Japan.
So, change we believe that its price will be around 350-400 € since it will bring news but not enough to exceed 600€ as the mythical PS3 did at its premiere. As far as we know to date the resolution will reach 8k as the first 6k and 8k are starting to be seen with brands like Samsung or LG; so in a couple of years they’ll be more integrated into the market as they go down in price and advertise more.
